Empowering Farming in Women -  Assam India

Through a charity project that focused on empowering women through training in farming, Laxmi* embraced the opportunity and started rearing ducks in her backyard. With minimal investment and the ducks feeding naturally from the water bodies and paddy fields, Laxmi challenged the status quo as one of few female farmers in the region. She is now able to contribute to her family's well being and inspire other women to do the same. Her resillience and hard work meant that she became a role model and community leader for other women.
