International Volunteer Day celebrates the remarkable contributions of volunteers worldwide in promoting peace and sustainable development.
CHALLENGE
VSO, an international development charity, recognized this opportunity to elevate their brand for this day. They faced the challenge of breaking the stereotype that volunteers are merely “do-gooders".
SOLUTION
As joint lead on this campaign, we created VSO's ‘Step Forward’ campaign. Inspired by the Paralympics’ “Meet the Super Humans” advert, we interviewed 10 volunteers about their challenging experiences. Our message was to emphasis how volunteering isn’t for the faint-hearted—it takes dedication and resilience. Through a social media campaign, we encouraged people to ‘step forward’ and use their skills to fight inequality. We also displayed posters across 200 UK locations showcasing some of our incredible volunteers.
